In early March, Dave & I took a trip over to Europe for the first time to England. We flew into London, took a train, then a car, and finally ended up on the gorgeous English coast for 3 days. Since the little town we were staying in is a huge tourist spot in the summertime, it was almost deserted when we were there…which was neat BUT that also means nothing is open and required some extra planning. After the coast we headed back into London where we stayed in the most amazing hotel, Town Hall Hotel & Apartments and ate some of the best food we’ve ever had (completely unexpected!). London, as we quickly learned, is a city that has a million things to do so we actually ended up wandering into different parts of the city rather than making distinct plans. I can’t wait until we get to go back some day.
Enjoy the photos!

So, a few months ago I received an email from PDN (Photo District News) saying that someone (STILL have no idea who) nominated me to apply for the Rising Stars competition. I remember reading it over & over & over because I simply couldn’t believe it. With the help of some critical eyes, I submitted a brief portfolio to them. Then, a month ago….a month ago (it’s been torturous to not tell) I found out that I had actually been chosen. I still can’t believe it. Honestly. To the person that nominated me…I will FOREVER be thankful.
Back in college I would read PDN (and still do!) admiring all of their featured photographers. To be included in this incredibly special collection of photographers seemed so far off but I had hoped that, one day, it would happen. Thank you to everyone who has been so supportive of my work-you’re like family to me.

Recently seen on Snippet & Ink, I just had to share an extended version of Mia & Jared’s amazing wedding.
Ceremony location: Hamilton College Chapel
Reception location: Harding Farm in Clinton, New York
Bride’s dress: Anne Barge (from Lovely in NYC)
Bridesmaid dresses: Reese Jacobs (from Lovely in NYC)
Groom’s suit: J. Crew
Florals: The Backyard Garden
Invitations: Ellothere
Mia says: “Our ceremony was also really special to us. First off, being in the chapel on campus was very important to us. Jared’s cousin was ordained for the occasion and wrote such a sweet and beautiful script. We took readings from For Whom the Bell Tolls and our favorite My Morning Jacket Song and bagpipes played as we processed and recessed. We made it very personal and didn’t listen to any of the traditional ceremony must-dos which we were so happy for in the end. People we barely knew said they teared up during our ceremony!”

Mia sees her Dad for the first time:

A little while ago, I flew down to Miami for Ashley’s bridal shoot at Vizcaya (aka my dream house haha). It was the perfect setting for someone who is equally as stunning. All of these were shot with Fuji 400h (for those who are wondering).
I hope you like them!
