A few weeks ago, I took a brief trip to LA for an engagement session. Almost five years ago, Dave & I came here on our honeymoon. While LA wasn’t the best choice…a whole ‘nother story…, visiting Santa Monica continues to be my favorite part from our trip. So, while I was in LA recently, I really wanted to see that area again. It was bittersweet since Dave wasn’t with me but the weather was gorgeous and made me remember our fun time there.

Here is a shot from a recent bridal shoot and I simply can not wait to show you all the rest of this beautiful bridal. This week is Photography Week over on the fabulous DC wedding blog, United With Love. Today’s topic is “price”. I know in the midst of planning your wedding, everything seems to add up very quickly and then you feel swamped with expenses wondering where your money is going. After your wedding, photography is basically the only thing you have to remember your day which is why it’s important to pay special attention to the quality of your images.
I use a lot of film in addition to digital equipment and while it does add a little bit to the “cost”, the images will be unreal. So soft, beautiful skin tones, and an everlasting quality. I also spend 40 hours of editing & attention to a couple’s wedding. Therefore, the amount you are spending isn’t going towards the actual wedding day but 90% of the work I do occurs after your beautiful wedding day. It’s a lot of work but I I absolutely love what I do:)

This past weekend is such a blur with an incredible gay wedding in DC at the Cosmos Club and then on Sunday we had about 5 inches of snow…at the end of March! They’re even calling for more snow this week! Very surreal. I want the 75 degree days to hurry up and get here but in the meantime, Patrick & Rachel’s engagement photos will be here this week and have you thinking about Spring!
